HOW IT WORKS
💪 How do I set up matches?
Wrestlers arrange their own matches by messaging others MeetFighters. Check the “Attendees” section to view and filter participants by stats, match styles, and preferences. We also encourage you to attend the open mat for an opportunity to wrestle with multiple people.
🍻 Will there be social events?
Yes! Join us for multiple social hangouts such as meetups, open mats, wrestling classes, a live show, and more! Find event details in the Events section on MeetFighters.

Absolutely! Wrestlefest welcomes all skill levels—a perfect chance to learn, connect, and gain experience.
🏡 I’m Local—How can I participate?
Toronto wrestlers, this is your moment! Set up matches via MeetFighters, host a match if you can, and suggest social events in the Wrestlefest Toronto forums.
👥 Can I help organize?
Yes! We will need multiple individuals to help organize and facilitate events. We are also looking for volunteers to help with social media, web administration, and supervising open mats.
STAYING CONNECTED
💬 Will there be a Discord?
Nope! This year, we’re using MeetFighters’ new event forum instead. Find it under the “Forums” tab on the event page.

🎟️ Does It Cost to Attend?
- Opening & closing parties are FREE!
- Some events (wrestling classes, open mats, live shows) may have a fee to cover costs.
- Ticket prices will depend on sponsorships—we’re working with MeetFighters to keep it affordable!
- We are not a profit making venture. Any ticket sales go solely to cover our costs.
📅 When Do Tickets Go on Sale?
- Expected in mid-May—registered attendees will get a notification.
🎤 Can I join the Live Show?
- Message Canwrestle on MeetFighters to express your interest. Spots are limited, and the lineup is at his discretion.
OPEN MATS & MATCHES
🤼 How Do Open Mats Work?
- Meet & wrestle with others—all skill levels welcome!
- Matches start from the knees, following Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu style.
- No takedowns, heel hooks, knee bars, or twisting leg locks to keep it safe.
- All participants will need to sign a liability waiver —full rules will be sent before the event.
🥊 Will there be a pro wrestling/boxing ring?
- Unfortunately, due to liability restrictions, the pro wrestling outlets in Toronto do not offer open ring access. There are many boxing/muay thai gyms in the city you can contact for a drop-in session if you are interested in meeting fellow boxers.
- If you are local and know a gym that hosts open training sessions, feel free to let others know in the forum.
- The 519, a local LGBT+ community centre, is offering LGBT+ self defence workshops on July 13 and August 17. Note that we have no affiliation with them or their workshops. Find more info here https://www.the519.org/programs/self-defense-workshop/
