Imagine a gladiator fight where, as well as having hand weapons such as swords or axes, the men have blades strapped to their ankles. They kick with the aim of injuring the other man. Battle rages until one man is no longer able to stay on his feet, and collapses at the feet of his victor. This sort of gladiator fight has not been much imagined, though gladiators with ankle blades (and arm blades) feature on the book cover of the sci-fi novel "Gladiator At Law". Hot to act out.
