Being relatively new to boxing,I get nothing out of cyber boxing. Boxing is about contact, responding to it, avoiding it, and returning it effectively. You can't write out an opponents punches, and only land yours. That I find ludicrous, and probably comes from guys who have not, or ever will, glove up. At best boxing is give and take, sparing, jockeying for position and studying your oponent, looking for an opening. Cyber is working out boxing scenes, writing the script while you go. It's not going to make me a better boxer. Writing about it, isn't doing it. But, different strokes for different folks. I respect the guys that stipulate they don't do cyber. I have agree with them. I'd get more out of going to a match with someone and observing.
All sport fighting is about contact. I can show various punches very effectively so that anyone who has boxed can see them and respond realistically. Punches, blocks, cumulative damage, 16x16ft., reach advantage, various ways to feint, Reyes 10’s, Queensbury rules, and fight spirit are all part of my cyber boxing. I was the real deal in fighting, now exiled to cyber, and I am not the only one. How does this member know what cyberfigtht is or can be if he hasn't done it or read much of it?
"Writing about it isn't doing it"?? Well, ummm yeah, we who have done both RL matching and cyberfighting have noticed that. It is the difference between looking at a picture of a delicious steak, and eating one. People have different reasons for doing cybefight, For example I did RL matching for years and had to stop due to fight injuries, in my case in judo. I hate that cyber is all I have left now, but I am glad to be able to keep a taste of RL, practice fight strategy, and, YES, even learn something more of fight in cyber. I know several people who have boxed RL for over 15yrs who now fight in cyber. With those who have not done competitive fighting but only cyber, so what, ENJOY. This is a wonderful site, but less arrogance and prejudice regarding cyberfight would be an improvement in my opinion. “Different strokes for different folks” indeed! ~Kate
Why not coach? You want cyber, do cyber, but the other guys are right when they say why is it their punches are always deflected, and their opponents always land. Maybe someone needs to have a cyber class. We do what we can, and what we want, that is the beauty of the site like this. Preference is not prejudice. Because I don't like cyber doesn't make me a snob. Arrogance and prejudice is an overstatement. You just don't seem to accept people not liking cyber. So who is arrogant and prejudiced?
As I said my fighting in cyber is realistic. what gets in depends on the defensive skills of opponents, where their body is from the last punches, and fight luck. Of course many, most, don't connect nor do I always win,as in RL.
Most interesting thing regarding this issue is that when you practice "open posting" as I do, I am not the one deciding what is blocked and what lands. I describe what I do, and it is my opponent who describes her /his defense and whether my throw connects or not. They are also the one who describes how the hit affects them; I trust them to be realistic and fair. Realistic reactions to realistic moves, but of course cyberfight can never describe the fullness of what happens in an actual match. It can express the essence of it, trigger the same emotions, or a good taste of them, as real fighting.
I am finding it really difficult to describe boxing in cyber... to give the detail re throws Left or right. low or high, to certain targets eg liver or s. plexus, put in the emotional color, whether to do rounds and how to figure the cyber/real time difference - etc, without the posting getting too long and the fight-flow ruined. Any advice or training welcome. I know how to box yes, but have huge problems finding other women opponents - but guys are welcome, gay , straight, just no more than two hands. if yer not a jerk and can fight, "go hard or go home" smile. ok, i can over-think things, jsut want ti to stay fun, but with real fight feel.
I do have one regular opponent- who I think is the best cyberboxer alive..no, I *mean* truly, she is amazingly good, but our way of posting doesn't seem to work with others.

I have found the frustrating thing is opponents who block all of MY blows but claim all theirs land😒. If you box IRL you know you throw a lot of punches that miss or get blocked. A solution is to really talk about your cyber "philosophy" before answering the cyber bell
Agreed that it is important to discuss before you climb into the cyber ring. i, too, have cybered guys who "never get hit" but land all their punches. It can be very frustrating!
