I also purchased puzzle mats as described above. I also purchased 16' of 4'; . wide rubber carpet padding they cut it in half for me for placement underneath: so I have an 8 x 8 mat area for about $120 - makes a great surface for wrestling, cushion but not "soft"......just right. This is on a cement basement floor and works well.
I may be in the market for a wrestling mat. I have a 9ftx10ft space available. I'm not sure what other concerns to list here, though I do want to note that I'd really like this to last a bit!
Amazon has 3/4" foam puzzle mats at $145 for 100 sq feet. they give you more cushion that the 1/2" rubber tiles, tend to resist getting unzipped fairly well and stack into a reasonably compact form factor for storage. I use them for my portable "take them somewhere else" set but they would do for home use too.
